Kathy & Hoda come to Rehoboth!

Did you know Kathy Lee owns a home in Rehoboth? She has always frequented the area, especially since she grew up here. Her co-host, Hoda, also has a family summer home here.

Recently the two women visited and brought along their show! Check out the video here. Pretty cool having mini-celebrities here, huh?!

Prudential Convention March 2011

I recently attended the Prudential Real Estate Convention in San Diego, CA, March 6-8, 2011 to catch up on industry news and to receive the award for being a top performer in the Southeastern region for Prudential.

Guest speakers at the convention were Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, the parents who inspired The Blind Side movie. They told their story, welcomed others’ and shared their hopes of having every Prudential agent make an impact within their community.

Their speech happily reminded me of the success and accolade that go along with being a Prudential Gallo REALTORS® agent. Prudential Gallo takes great pride in its community roots. In fact, they launched a new marketing program, Community minded, Customer Focused, which emphasizes the importance of family, life in Sussex County and having a place to call home…Something I embrace whole-heartedly when it comes to Lewes.

Overall, I left the convention with a renewed sense of purpose and am looking forward to (an already) productive 2011!

Check out the great photo of Carrie Gentile and I with Sean and Leigh Anne

Saturday December 6th 2008 - The 77th Annual Lewes Christmas Parade

The Annual Lewes Christmas Parade begins at 5 PM on Saturday December 6th at the Lewes Ninth Grade Academy on Savannah Road. The parade runs down Savannah Road onto Second Street and ends at King's Ice Cream Shop.

I have to quote Helaine Harris, the editor of the Lewes Farmer's Market Newsletter, who best describes the parade,

"Everyone who has a pick-up and a generator is in this parade. In fact, there are more folks in the parade than spectators...in my book it ranks right up there with the [Lewes] Doo Dah Parade."

Immediately following the parade, the town will host a Christmas Tree Lighting cermony and Candlelight Caroling in Zwaanendael Park (Next to the Zwaanendael Museum at the intersection of Kings Highway and Savannah Road).

Bundle up before you go!

You Missed the Best Boat Parade Ever!

[wp_caption id="attachment_176" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Winter Dreams"]\"Winter Dreams\"[/wp_caption] ...well, okay, it was the best boat parade Lewes, DE has ever had, anyhow. Even after having to wait almost 45 minutes for the boat parade to start late (but I'm not complaining!), the audience at the Lewes City Dock on Friday July 4th, 2008 was unrelentlessly and enthusiastically cheering for the 30 to 40 boats decked out in red, white and blue and filled with costumed and radiant boaters proudly displaying their patriotic spirit. The boat parade's emcee thanked the participants for "risking their children's inheritance" in order to pay for the gas to run their boats in the parade...She and another announcer also took the opportunity during the wait for the parade to start to exhort everyone to donate to the worthy Overfalls Lightship Restoration Project and to thank all the "dirty hands crew" volunteers who have worked to get the boat to the condition it is in today. They've raised over $1 million with another $1 million more needed in order to make the boat sea-worthy. It was a calm and sunny day, perfect for a parade...and once it actually began, all delays were forgiven and forgotten (mostly). We'll post more photos from the 4th of July as we receive them. Hope everyone else enjoyed the festivities in Lewes as much as we did...
